Hypnobirthing Testimonials

Here are some hypnobirthing stories from my clients to show it helped them to achieve a positive birth experience.

"I had planned to have at least three hypnobirthing sessions with Jo. However, the early arrival of my baby daughter meant I only fitted in one. I can honestly say that I know it made a huge difference.

The relaxation techniques I learnt in the one-to-one session followed by the wonderfully relaxing MP3 downloads Jo sent me afterwards helped me to enter an almost trance-like state as labour took hold and I felt calm and in control throughout most of the labour. Even when the contractions came on very strong, due to induction, my mind took me away from focusing on the pain. I am sure this is to do with the hypnobirthing techniques I learned from Jo.

Everyone deals with things differently and every labour is unique. I for one would vouch for Jo’s techniques and would certainly use them again should baby number 2 come along!"

"This is my second time visiting Jo & she did not disappoint. Jo taught me the skills of Hypnobirthing during my first pregnancy, it kept my anxiety levels in check during my pregnancy & gave me the tools to enable a drug free labour (& that’s not to say that the birth was not without its challenges!!).

I got in touch with Jo again for a refresher during my second pregnancy & was a little nervous how this would work across zoom video calls - I needn’t have worried, it was just as effective & she put me at ease very quickly.

The recordings Jo creates are personalised & make such a difference to your perspective as you head into the unknown - just make sure you make the time to actually listen to them!

Can’t speak highly enough about Jo, would definitely recommend"

She taught me numerous different ways to help relax me during the labour as well as practical tecnhiques which will help me in everyday life."

"I had my lil Man yesterday after 7 hr labour, only had gas and air and pethadine.

Wanted to thank you. I really think having just one session took away some of the anxiety and gave me a little more confidence. To be honest between contractions I was away."

"I came to see Jo to help with my Nipple Phobia, and to learn some Hypnobirthing techniques to keep me calm during labour. Having been really keen to breastfeed my son, Jo helped me realise where this phobia had come from and changed my thought process around it. She also gave me a mp3 written specifically for me which I listened to at home.

I had a long labour but Jos hypnobirthing techniques kept me calm and I am amazed that I can now exclusively breastfeeding."

"I wanted to let you know that my baby girl arrived on 6th July (10 days past due date) safe and healthy weighing 7lb 6oz. I found my hypnobirthing methods and recordings invaluable through the early pregnancy stages at home and during active labour to help me block out the pain in parts.

So much so, I stuck to my original plan. I started off in the water and had a pain relief free natural birth! I am so glad I did it and very happy I did my sessions with you. Now at home now I am recovering well."

Samantha

"I used a mixture of a tens machine, water & gas & air during labour. I also practised visualisations during labour too. It was a very good birth experience & I think the hypnobirthing played a part in helping me not to need stronger pain relief or any intervention.

Thanks for the sessions you gave me. I wasn’t convinced that giving birth wasn’t going to be horrific but my experience & how I coped totally surprised me!"

"Being a first time mum, I was filled with anxiety about giving birth and everything that went along with it. I also suffered from SPD, which at times was excruciating and meant that I could only get around with the use of crutches. This was exactly the reason I sought help from Jo and I'm glad that I did.

Jo taught me various techniques to help control my level of pain and ease my worries about labour. My outlook completely changed after just a few sessions and I'm now calmer and feeling so much more positive about the whole experience. Thank you Jo!"

"We had our baby boy on 13th July, he weighed 7.14 but now he is almost 3 months and weighs a huge 14lbs!! I was so calm through the whole process, listening to my mp3s!.

I felt in control, confident and totally 'in the zone'! The midwife even asked if I had done hypnobirthing! The labour was great-not that painful at all. Throughout the contractions I used gas and air to help regulate my breathing. I don't think it really did much for pain relief as didn't notice the difference when I wasn't using it. When it was clear that he wasn't going to come out unaided I stayed really calm and didn't panic at all. I'm sure would have been something that would have stressed me out if I hadn't done hypnobirthing. After pushing for 2 hours and he wasn't moving I was taken to theatre and given a spinal tap injection and forceps were used to get him out as his head was side ways.

I can honestly say I actually enjoyed the whole process of childbirth!! Managing the pain much better than I thought I would. I think that was due to hypnobirthing; because I was so calm during the labour I was able to recover quicker and made going home with a new baby less stressful as well. Many thanks"

I contacted Jo when I was around 36 weeks pregnant because I was extremely anxious about giving birth. I'm so glad I did. Jo assessed my situation and guided me though hypnobirthing exercises that I used during labour. These were invaluable when the day came. I was able to remain calm and relaxed throughout the labour and birth.

The reflexology helped too, it was a lovely way to relax during pregnancy. If you are considering hypnobirthing, definitely go to Jo for her expertise and tangible exercises that will help when the time comes. She will assure you that there is no need to be afraid of childbirth.

“I thought you like might to know we had a baby girl. I had a really good birth with no epidural! Convinced the hypnobirthing was really fundamental to me being able to give birth naturally and I was able to go in with a positive mindset. It was tough but I dug deep. So a big thanks for the sessions, I truly believe they set me up for success.“

Emma

Your hypnobirthing techniques really helped me through, thank you so much.

I was 10cm dilated when I got to the hospital and our little girl was born an hour later. I am so glad I did your session, I’ll be recommending it to any pregnant person I meet. "

Kathy

"I was able to keep calm and in control during early stages at home and the techniques also really helped during the first stage in hospital. I used a tens machine & focused on hypnobirthing techniques which helped me get to 8cm before using gas & air.

I was keen to avoid an epidural and drugs and had listened to the recordings every day, they helped me feel prepared for what would happen and I used a number of techniques to avoid medical intervention. I was so pleased to have the birth in the birth centre, with only gas & air as planned and although my baby was back to back I managed the challenge.

I would definitely recommend confident childbirth to others, I am a pretty anxious person, talking through fears, working on strategies & finding what techniques worked for me made it very personal."

Jaclyn

"I reached out to Jo for hypnobirthing support for my first pregnancy. I found the experience very relaxing and helped alleviate any fears and stress I had about giving birth. Jo provided me with tools that were very easy to use and relaxed me straight away.

I did sessions both in person and on skype - both were super effective. As my baby arrived 6 weeks early I was glad I booked my sessions well in advance!!"

"I went to see Jo for Hypnobirthing to prepare for the birth of my second baby. Towards the end of the pregnancy, the baby was presenting breech and Jo provided techniques to assist the baby to turn which fortunately happened.

I had a successful normal delivery and greatly benefited from seeing Jo for coping with the anxiety prior to birth and managing the pain during labour. Thank you Jo for your professionalism."

Irene

“I decided to do hypnobirthing to be calm in the build up to and during labour. My goals were met and I was totally relaxed and trusted my body.

I feel confident that I’ve given her the best start in life with a good birth. I would highly recommend Confident Childbirth to others.”

Hi Jo! You may not remember me, I was your hypnobirthing student 3 years ago!

I have given birth to my son this morning and for over 24 hours was at home practicing your hypnobirthing techniques. It really got me through and I got to the hospital 4cm dilated. The midwife actually said that I don't look like I'm in pain!

Thanks so much for all your help. The lessons were invaluable!
