Here are some hypnobirthing stories from my clients to how it helped them to achieve a positive birth experience for them.
Being CNHC Registered and a NCH Hypnotherapist I am only allowed to publish testimonials if I can provide proof they are genuine, and that the client has given permission for them to be on the website.
"I was terrified of giving birth but after going to Jo’s hynobirthing sessions I felt so much more positive.
She taught me numerous different ways to help relax me during the labour as well as practical tecnhiques which will help me in everyday life."
"I had my lil Man yesterday after 7 hr labour, only had gas and air and pethadine.
Wanted to thank you. I really think having just one session took away some of the anxiety and gave me a little more confidence. To be honest between contractions I was away."
"I came to see Jo to help with my Nipple Phobia, and to learn some Hypnobirthing techniques to keep me calm during labour. Having been really keen to breastfeed my son, Jo helped me realise where this phobia had come from and changed my thought process around it. She also gave me a mp3 written specifically for me which I listened to at home.
I had a long labour but Jos hypnobirthing techniques kept me calm and I am amazed that I can now exclusively breastfeeding."
"I wanted to let you know that my baby girl arrived on 6th July (10 days past due date) safe and healthy weighing 7lb 6oz. I found my hypnobirthing methods and recordings invaluable through the early pregnancy stages at home and during active labour to help me block out the pain in parts.
So much so, I stuck to my original plan. I started off in the water and had a pain relief free natural birth! I am so glad I did it and very happy I did my sessions with you. Now at home now I am recovering well."
"I used a mixture of a tens machine, water & gas & air during labour. I also practised visualisations during labour too. It was a very good birth experience & I think the hypnobirthing played a part in helping me not to need stronger pain relief or any intervention.
Thanks for the sessions you gave me. I wasn’t convinced that giving birth wasn’t going to be horrific but my experience & how I coped totally surprised me!"
"Being a first time mum, I was filled with anxiety about giving birth and everything that went along with it. I also suffered from SPD, which at times was excruciating and meant that I could only get around with the use of crutches. This was exactly the reason I sought help from Jo and I'm glad that I did.
Jo taught me various techniques to help control my level of pain and ease my worries about labour. My outlook completely changed after just a few sessions and I'm now calmer and feeling so much more positive about the whole experience. Thank you Jo!"
"We had our baby boy on 13th July, he weighed 7.14 but now he is almost 3 months and weighs a huge 14lbs!! I was so calm through the whole process, listening to my mp3s!.
I felt in control, confident and totally 'in the zone'! The midwife even asked if I had done hypnobirthing! The labour was great-not that painful at all. Throughout the contractions I used gas and air to help regulate my breathing. I don't think it really did much for pain relief as didn't notice the difference when I wasn't using it. When it was clear that he wasn't going to come out unaided I stayed really calm and didn't panic at all. I'm sure would have been something that would have stressed me out if I hadn't done hypnobirthing. After pushing for 2 hours and he wasn't moving I was taken to theatre and given a spinal tap injection and forceps were used to get him out as his head was side ways.
I can honestly say I actually enjoyed the whole process of childbirth!! Managing the pain much better than I thought I would. I think that was due to hypnobirthing; because I was so calm during the labour I was able to recover quicker and made going home with a new baby less stressful as well. Many thanks"
"Hi Jo Baby Benjamin was born weighing 7Ib exactly. I had an amazing drug free labour and straight forward birth in the birth centre at Queen Charlottes.
Labour pains started on Thurs in the early hours. I managed at home for as long as possible using hypnobirth techniques (predominantly self hypnosis using the recorded sessions as a reminder) and a tens machine too for distraction! I finally gave in and went into the birth centre at 11pm Thurs eve. The midwife examined me and was amazed to find I was 9cm and ready to push! Benjamin was born at 2:09am Friday morning without any drugs or intervention.
I can honestly attribute my clear mind and determination to your sessions. They really gave me such focus & confidence I could manage the pain. I can say without hesitation I'd do it all again! Here's a picture of our little man when he was just a few weeks old. He's doing really well, just approaching 8 weeks old and smiling away happily!
Thanks again for your guidance and expertise!"
“Your hypnobirthing techniques really helped me through, thank you so much.
I was 10cm dilated when I got to the hospital and our little girl was born an hour later. I am so glad I did your session, I’ll be recommending it to any pregnant person I meet. "
