Hypnobirthing given more credibility
Ipswich Hospital, is to become the third NHS hospital in the UK to offer hypnobirthing. Their maternity team won the Maternity Service of the Year award at the Royal College of Midwives Annual Midwifery Awards, Click here to read this piece in the news today.
Hypnobirthing often means that labour is significantly shorter. You are also less likely to need pain relief and less likely to have a delivery by forceps, ventouse, or cesarean section. During a course you will learn self-hypnosis, visualisation exercises as well as pain control techniques. The aim is to help manage pain with the minimum use of drugs. You will also receive free personalised hypnobirthing mp3s for you to listen to and benefit from.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if this could be offered at every hospital across the UK. Then so many more woman could have the techniques to help them have a positive experience.
I used these techniques for the birth of my daughter, achieving a drug free birth. I can highly recommend learning these techniques to anyone wanting to take more control over their birth experience.
